Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Data Mesh Architect with proven experience implementing Data Mesh architecture in a financial institution. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in data architecture, governance, and cross-functional collaboration, with a strong ability to bridge the gap between business needs and data engineering capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Design Scalable Architectures:
Develop and implement scalable, distributed data architectures aligned with Data Mesh principles.Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Partner with domain teams to understand data requirements and guide the creation of domain-specific data products.Data Governance:
Define and enforce governance frameworks to ensure data quality, security, compliance, and consistency across domains.Architectural Leadership:
Champion Data Mesh architecture principles, patterns, and standards across the organization.Data Interfaces & Contracts:
Design and implement data product interfaces, including APIs and data contracts to support interoperability.Technology Evaluation:
Assess and recommend modern data tools, platforms, and technologies that align with Data Mesh goals.Mentorship:
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to data engineers, architects, and domain teams.Documentation:
Maintain comprehensive documentation for architecture designs, implementation guidelines, and best practices.Continuous Learning:
Stay current with industry trends, emerging tools, and advancements in Data Mesh, data architecture, and data engineering.
Qualifications:
Proven experience implementing Data Mesh architecture, preferably in a financial services environment.
Strong background in data modeling, distributed systems, and data platform engineering.
Deep understanding of domain-oriented ownership, data as a product, and self-serve data infrastructure.
Experience with data governance frameworks and regulatory compliance (e.g., GDPR, SOX).
Proficient in modern data stack tools (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, Kafka, dbt, Airflow).
Strong communication skills and ability to translate technical solutions for business stakeholders.
Ability to work independently in a remote, distributed team environment.
