Job Title: COBOL Developer (Linux/Unix)
Location: 1030 Delta Boulevard Atlanta, GA 30354 or 8400 Normandale Lake Boulevard Minneapolis, MN 55437 (Hybrid)
Duration: 12+ Months contract with possible extension/conversion
Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced COBOL Developer with at least 6 years of hands-on development experience in a Linux/Unix environment. The ideal candidate will be proficient in COBOL programming, relational databases (preferably Oracle), and have exposure to modern integration methods such as SOAP or REST APIs using XML/JSON. Experience with C programming and familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS is a strong plus.
Candidates needs to have:
- 6+ years of COBOL development experience in Unix/Linux environments
- Strong experience with relational databases, preferably Oracle
- Proficiency in Unix/Linux command-line tools and shell scripting
- Familiarity with SOAP/REST APIs and data interchange using XML/JSON
- Exposure to C programming
- AWS or any cloud platform experience (preferred but not mandatory)
Good to have:
- Experience with design systems and component-based design
- Experience in enterprise or complex software product design
- Design portfolio showcasing relevant UX/UI projects is required
Job Description:
- Analyze, design, develop, test, and implement software solutions following established SDLC methodologies.
- Construct, test, and deploy portions of complex COBOL-based systems.
- Participate in system upgrades, enhancements, and legacy system conversions.
- Use development tools to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve business and technical issues.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Validate scope, create development plans, and deliver on assigned technical projects.
- Apply specialized knowledge in cross-functional areas, legacy modernization, and integration tasks
