About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic Product Owner – MES/MOM with strong engineering and manufacturing expertise, particularly in automotive production systems . This is a hybrid role that blends hands-on MES/MOM engineering with strategic product ownership, working across business and technical teams to define, deliver, and optimize smart manufacturing solutions.
You’ll play a central role in shaping ConnectedX’s MES/MOM product strategy while driving execution across the software development lifecycle. Your deep understanding of manufacturing execution systems, lean manufacturing principles, and Toyota-style production environments will be key to ensuring we deliver high-impact digital solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Product Ownership
- Act as the voice of the customer and manufacturing floor, translating operational needs into product requirements and roadmaps.
- Own the product backlog for MES/MOM initiatives, prioritizing features and enhancements based on business value, feasibility, and ROI.
- Work closely with stakeholders (clients, engineers, architects, and project managers) to gather requirements, define user stories, and validate solutions.
- Develop and maintain product documentation, including user personas, workflows, and acceptance criteria.
- Facilitate sprint planning, demos, and retrospectives with agile teams.
Engineering & Implementation
- Design, configure, and implement MES/MOM solutions to improve operational efficiency and traceability on the shop floor.
- Support integration with SCADA, PLC, ERP, and quality systems across global manufacturing environments.
- Analyze manufacturing workflows and lead standardization of processes across multiple sites.
- Collaborate in troubleshooting and root cause analysis of system and data flow issues.
- Lead continuous improvement and innovation initiatives in MES architecture and usability.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in MES/MOM systems development and support within a manufacturing or industrial automation environment.
- Proven experience as a Product Owner on digital transformation or manufacturing projects.
- Experience with MES platforms such as Siemens Opcenter, Rockwell FactoryTalk, GE Proficy, or similar.
- Proficiency in databases and scripting (e.g., SQL, Python) and understanding of SCADA and industrial networks.
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience working in agile/scrum environments is a plus.
