Job Description
The Data Platforms team designs, builds, and maintains enterprise data platforms and capabilities within Foundation Technology Platform function. We are responsible for ensuring data integrity, system reliability, and mission-critical operational stability organization-wide. Our team is actively leveraging AI technologies to optimize data delivery, enhance platform capabilities, and drive organizational value creation through innovative data-driven services and solutions.
Data Platforms are accelerating their transformation through Agentic AI - a paradigm shift from assistive tools to autonomous digital coworkers. This internship supports our strategic initiative to build scalable, ethical, and reusable agentic systems that drive operational efficiency, data governance, and intelligent automation across the enterprise.

- Assist in building AI Agents for data platform automation.
- Help design and deploy AI agents with reasoning, planning, and memory
- Work on practical cases in platform operations and digital data engineering
- Contribute to AI-powered data classification and tagging workflows
- Explore emerging AI technologies for data platform applications
Internship Development Opportunities:
- Gain hands-on experience in cutting-edge AI systems
- Gain exposure to enterprise-scale deployments
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams driving Takeda's AI initiative
Job Requirements:
- This position will be Hybrid out of the Cambridge, MA office
- Must be pursuing a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Engineering, or a related field

- Programming: Python, SQL, Java/Scala, or R
- Data Platforms: Apache Spark, Kafka, Databricks, Informatica
- AI/ML Frameworks: TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, or MLflow
- LLMs: OpenAI GPT, Anthropic Claude, Llama, Gemini, or Hugging Face Transformers
- Agentic AI: LangGraph, LangChain, AutoGen, CrewAI or OpenAI API
- Cloud Platforms: AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (any data/ML services)
- Databases: PostgreSQL, vector databases (Pinecone, Chroma), or other SQL/NoSQL systems
Internship Eligibility
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a permanent basis without requiring sponsorship
- Must be currently enrolled in a degree program graduating December 2026 or later
- The internship program is 10-12 weeks depending on the two start dates (May 26th-August 14th or June 15th- August 21st)
- The intern must be able to commit to one of these time frames
- Able to work full time 40 hours a week during internship dates
- Takeda does not provide a housing stipend or relocation support for the U.S Summer Internship Program
