Job Title: Telecom Analyst Cisco Network Engineering

Role Overview
The Telecom Analyst is a senior-level Cisco Network Engineer responsible for the architecture, configuration, implementation, and ongoing support of enterprise Cisco network infrastructure. This role requires deep hands-on expertise with Cisco IOS, routing and switching technologies, WAN connectivity, and enterprise network design to deliver secure, scalable, and highly available network solutions aligned with business requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, engineer, and implement enterprise Cisco-based network solutions across LAN, WAN, and data center environments
- Configure, test, deploy, and support Cisco IOS-based routers and switches in production environments
- Perform advanced routing and switching configuration, optimization, and troubleshooting
- Maintain accurate Cisco device configurations, network diagrams, and technical documentation
- Develop detailed engineering job packages, including hardware specifications, IOS configurations, and network diagrams
- Design cost-effective Cisco network architectures that meet performance, availability, and security standards
- Prepare and submit Cisco hardware and circuit cost estimates for planned installations
- Procure, provision, turn up, and troubleshoot private and public WAN circuits integrated with Cisco infrastructure
- Support redundancy, resiliency, and failover solutions using Cisco best practices
- Work cross-functionally with IT, telecom, and infrastructure teams to deliver end-to-end Cisco networking solutions
- Stay current with Cisco technologies, IOS enhancements, and industry networking standards
Required Qualifications
- 5 7 years of Information Technology experience with at least 5 years focused on Cisco network engineering
- Extensive hands-on experience with Cisco routing and switching in large enterprise environments
- Strong working knowledge of Cisco IOS configuration and troubleshooting
- Proven experience designing and supporting mission-critical Cisco networks
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple Cisco initiatives simultaneously
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational, time management, and prioritization skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Cisco certifications preferred: CCNA, CCDA
- Advanced Cisco certifications strongly desired: CCNP, CCDP, CCIE
- Experience with Cisco enterprise networking technologies, including:
- Cisco routers and switches
- Cisco ACS
- Cisco wireless controllers and access points
- Cisco VPN concentrators
- Strong expertise in Cisco-related protocols and technologies:
- TCP/IP and Cisco IOS
- Layer 3 Switching
- Routing protocols: RIP, OSPF, EIGRP
- High availability and redundancy: HSRP, GLBP
- Tunneling and security: GRE, IPSEC, SSL
- Authentication and monitoring: AAA, SNMP
