Job Details

We are seeking a Data Governance & Access Management Engineer for a full-time role, fully remote, but you must live in the major cities on the East Coast. The corporate office is located in Kansas City, Missouri.

Key responsibilities:

- Responsible for developing, operating, and maintaining the Access Management systems globally across Data platforms.

- Drive data security strategy across data platforms via Role based access control framework.

- Drive data access governance towards transparency, auditability, Data quality, Accountability, Stewardship, Standardization of Definitions, Collaboration.

- Define, drive and implement data access and security framework across Data products.

- Supports the Identity Governance and Identity Lifecycle management products.

- Responsible for oversight and delivery of strategic initiatives for Access Management and to protect against and respond to cyber threats from both external and internal threat actors.

- Provide strategic guidance, oversight and leadership for the Technology organization and business overall.

- Responsible for the day-to-day successful operations of end-user related software and hardware.

- Analyzes systems performance to review operating costs, efficiency levels, upgrade requirements, and other metrics and needs.

- Establishes policies and procedures to support new technology initiatives across the organization.

- Identifies and recommends new technology solutions and keeps up to date on current technologies and trends.

Technical Knowledge, Key skills and experience required for the successful candidate:

We need you, a dynamic and proven data engineer, with extensive direct experience in leading and running web and data application delivery teams, access management, cybersecurity, business and technology planning, while providing strategic vision to the team/organization.

- Hands-on experience within a Data products build and operations in the Company s cloud environment

- Experience leading data teams and projects.

- Advanced knowledge of Databases, Networking, Systems, Windows, Windows Clustering, Active Directory, Group Policy, VMWare ESXi, and Cloud (Azure).

- Strong communicator (both written and verbally) who can simplify complex subjects and deliver important messages internally and externally.

- Hands-on experience with Azure services.

- Azure Database development experience with Infra as a Code.

- Expertise in Data warehousing - data modelling, relational and Dimension modelling, Data quality, data catalog and Data Governance.

- Experience with data security and data access controls and design across digital transformation/cloud migration programs.

Required Experience:

- Minimum of 7+ years of increasingly responsible experience in Data Platforms, Data Engineering, Software Engineering at high impactful and changing environments

- Experience with access control lists and Azure role-based access control to provide only the necessary permissions to users to access enterprise data.

- 4+ years of working experience in Azure or cloud platforms

- 4+ years of hands-on experience with one or more cloud technologies such as Azure, AWS, Google

- Experience auditing an Azure SQL Database to monitor for unauthorized access across Data products

- Experience with azure key vault leveraging to store and manage keys and secrets used by multiple sources

- Extensive experience with private endpoints, managed virtual networks and managed private endpoints for secured traffic

- Extensive experience with managing access control lists on azure data lake storage, access to resources via RBAC

- Define Data classification, PII and PHI standards

- Drive solutions for unscalable access controls

- Experience in automation to reduce manual processes, thus easing resource constraints - when it comes to sensitive data discovery and policy enforcement

- Drive and define policies from individual platforms and enable distributed stewardship to avoid data silos and enable scalability

- Offer an attribute-based approach to ensure access control implementation is able to easily scale and evolve with the business

- Provide plain language policy authoring to help with collaboration and ownership

- Experience in managing/collaborating with a high-profile team of Data Engineers, DevOps, data scientists, Business Analytics and Data Analysts

- Knowledge of Software development agile methodologies and worked in Scrum teams

- Excellent communication & presentation skills with a track record of engaging with senior business leaders

- Experience in Finance/Insurance would be a distinct advantage

- Should have worked in a dynamic and fast-changing environment

- High affinity with AI-powered insight tools and engines and application of real-time solutions to analytics problems

- Exposure to COGS/KTLO, Operations and Command Center activity

- Azure/Google Cloud Platform/AWS Solution Architect certification or Data Engineer certification is plus
