Responsibilities

 

Designs, develops, and implements testing methods and equipment.

Plans and arranges the labor, schedules, and equipment required for testing and evaluating standard and special devices.

Provides test area with parameters for sample testing and specifies tests to be performed.

Compiles data and defines changes required in testing equipment, testing procedures, manufacturing processes, or new testing requirements.

Responsible for testing all customer samples and for special tests that cannot be performed in the test area.

Leadership of product testing, working in close collaboration with all parts of the Operating Unit for the test planning, coordinating, setup, execution, data reduction, test reporting, and post-data processing.

Leadership in integration of products to test tooling, software, equipment, and instrumentation.

Leadership in test data collection, post-test data review, reporting, and support test requirements verification.

 

 

Qualifications

 

  • Minimum of two (2) years of applicable experience in testing, systems engineering, design engineering, manufacturing engineering, or other.
  • 5+ years of test engineering-specific experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in test automation software (i.e., LabVIEW or other) for product testing preferred.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in measuring and controlling various electronic components such as motors, actuators, positional sensing devices, load transducers, etc. is preferred.
  • Experience in aerospace or aeronautical industry is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of applicable manufacturing processes such as machining, finishing, and rapid prototyping is preferred.
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills with hands-on project experience.
  • Excellent communication skills – presentation, oral, written, and listening.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to organize and prioritize job assignments and tasks.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in an integrated team and adapt to change and dynamic requirements.
  • Demonstrated technical writing and/or procedure development skills.
  • Demonstrated experience with testing automation or other lean manufacturing/testing methodologies.
  • Bachelor Degree in an engineering or STEM related field.
