Job Title: ETL AWS Glue Data Engineer

Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid)

Duration / Term: Long-Term Contract

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented ETL AWS Glue Data Engineer to design, develop, and optimize robust data pipelines using AWS Glue. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ETL processes, data modeling, and cloud-native data engineering, with hands-on experience in AWS Glue Studio, Glue DataBrew, and related AWS services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and maintain ETL pipelines using AWS Glue to ingest, transform, and load data from diverse sources
  • Optimize data workflows for performance, scalability, and reliability
  • Collaborate with data analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders to gather and translate data requirements
  • Monitor and troubleshoot ETL jobs, ensuring timely resolution of issues
  • Document ETL processes and provide training or knowledge transfer to team members
  • Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging trends in cloud data engineering

Qualifications

  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Proven experience as an ETL Specialist or Data Engineer, with a focus on AWS Glue
  • Strong understanding of ETL frameworks, data modeling, and data warehousing concepts
  • Hands-on experience with AWS Glue Studio, Glue DataBrew, and Glue ETL jobs
  • Familiarity with AWS services such as S3, Redshift, Lambda, and Athena
  • Proficiency in Python, PySpark, and SQL is a strong plus
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and team collaboration skills
