The candidate will be supporting a WWT customer and will be employed by one of WWT s preferred partners. The partner will provide full compensation and benefit information prior to employment with the partner.

Rate/Salary: A reasonable estimate of the current pay range for this position is $60.00 to $65.00 hourly on W2 hourly. Actual pay will be based on a variety of factors, including shift, location, experience, skill set, performance, licensure and certification, and business needs, and will be set by your employer. The range for this position in other geographic locations may differ. Certain positions may also be eligible for variable incentive compensation, such as bonuses or commissions, that is not included in base pay
Azure Data Governance Analyst

Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Data Governance Analyst with deep expertise in Microsoft Azure to lead governance initiatives across our cloud data ecosystem. This role is critical to ensuring data integrity, compliance, and usability within Azure-based environments, supporting enterprise-wide analytics, reporting, and decision-making.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Azure-Centric Governance Implementation
- Design and enforce data governance policies across Azure Data Lake, Synapse Analytics, and other Azure services
- Implement metadata management, data lineage, and classification using Azure Purview
- Collaborate with cloud architects to embed governance into scalable data pipelines and storage solutions
- Compliance and Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., CCPA, GDPR) within Azure environments
- Monitor data access, usage, and retention policies using Azure-native tools
- Support audits and risk assessments with clear documentation and traceability
- Data Quality and Stewardship
- Define and monitor data quality KPIs across Azure-based datasets
- Partner with business units to identify data owners and stewards
- Lead remediation efforts for data inconsistencies and integrity issues
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with data engineers, BI developers, and business analysts to align governance with analytics goals
- Translate governance requirements into actionable controls within Azure services
- Facilitate governance councils and working groups to drive adoption and accountability
- Reporting & Enablement
- Develop dashboards and reports to track governance maturity and compliance status
- Create training materials and documentation to support data literacy and stewardship
- Evangelize Azure governance best practices across the organization
Qualifications Guidelines:
Strong communication skills for executive and cross-functional engagement are critical for success in this role with the ability to influence data strategy and drive governance adoption in a cloud-first organization. Education/Experience:
- Bachelor s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field
- Azure certifications (e.g., Azure Data Fundamentals, Azure Security Engineer, Azure Solutions Architect)
- Proficiency in Azure Purview, Azure Data Lake, Databricks, and related tools
- Strong understanding of data privacy regulations and enterprise compliance frameworks
- Experience with metadata management, data cataloging, and lineage tracking
- Familiarity with SQL, Power BI, and cloud-native data architecture
