Job Title: Senior Operations Engineer

Location: Schaumburg, IL

Position Summary:
Our client is a leader in the oral care industry, known for producing and distributing high-quality oral care products. The company, has its headquarters in Schaumburg, Illinois, and operates branches in both North and South America. They also have distribution partners in Central and South America. The mission of the company is improving overall health through oral health globally and they believe in fostering a collaborative, innovative, and agile workplace culture to support its mission and maintain its industry leadership.
The IT Operations Engineer will have a strong background in lifecycle services, DevOps, user security, data migration using Excel templates, performing software upgrades, issue tracking and resolution, bug logging, and preferably some project management experience. This role will involve ensuring the smooth operation of our IT infrastructure and software systems, managing security and user access, and overseeing data migration projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and implement data migration strategies, particularly using Excel templates for organizing data.
  • Diagnose and solve technical problems, conduct analyses to determine underlying causes, and apply corrective actions.
  • Keep a detailed log of software bugs, collaborating with developers to ensure timely resolutions.
  • Oversee the full lifecycle of IT systems, including initial planning, deployment, ongoing maintenance, and eventual decommissioning.
  • Establish and uphold DevOps practices to enhance the efficiency of software development and operational procedures.
  • Manage IT projects by overseeing the coordination of activities, schedules, and resources.
  • Conduct updates to systems and software, focusing on reducing downtime and user disruption.
  • Continuously monitor and improve user security protocols, access management, and safeguarding of data.
  • Keep the IT department organized and efficient, ensuring all documentation and processes are current and well-maintained.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Over 5 years of experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 ERP Systems.
  • Skilled in PowerBI for analytics and reporting.
  • Demonstrated expertise in ERP and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
  • Robust experience in IT operations and systems management.
  • Skilled in applying DevOps methodologies and utilizing relevant tools.
  • Knowledgeable in user security and data protection standards.
  • Experienced in managing data migrations, including proficiency with Excel templates.
  • Extensive background in software updates and problem-solving.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft SQL Database, including developing stored procedures, crafting complex SQL queries, custom database design, data integrity troubleshooting, and managing backup and maintenance processes, along with ETL.

  • Outstanding verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Meticulous attention to detail paired with a dedication to producing high-quality outcomes.
  • Proficient in advanced troubleshooting, analytical thinking, critical reasoning, and problem-solving.
  • Serve as a technical support intermediary collaborating with internal business units.
  • Exemplify poise, assurance, and competence during high-pressure situations.
  • Fundamental project management capabilities, including effective task organization.


*May need to sit or stand as needed. May require walking primarily on a level surface for periods during the day. May involve the use of a variety of office equipment such as computers, telephones, copiers, etc. Keyboard usage and frequency can be moderate to extensive. Position will spend a significant amount of time sitting but have the ability to move around. Lifting is minimal and does not routinely exceed ten (10) pounds. There is minimal bending, stooping, or twisting involved. The performance of this position is in a typical office environment with regulated temperatures, good lighting, and traditional office equipment. No special Personal Protective Equipment is required. May occasionally require exposure to the manufacturing environment where certain areas require the use of Personal Protective Equipment such as hearing protection.*
