Looking for OMS Engineer(Python Backend)

Job Description -

Client: WWT

Title: OMS Engineer - Heavy OMS backend
remote -likely PST hours
visa - and GC
Skype

JD - Need a backend person to do the coding to help with migration.
This person will be on the distribution side.
Python, JAVA building scripts from scratch
Operational and support is most of the work

Must Haves: CGI OMS, GE eTerra OMS, Scripting & Automation Experience, Heavy OMS backend
Nice to Haves: Done a CGI to eTerra OMS migration, front end experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer, maintain, and troubleshoot the eTerra OMS platform, ensuring optimal performance and uptime.
  • Develop, enhance, and maintain OMS processes to support business operations.
  • Manage and support touchpoints between OMS and other GMS modules, as well as external applications.
  • Monitor, analyze, and optimize the AMI Filtering Rules Engine to improve outage detection and response.
  • Collaborate with IT, operations, and external vendors to resolve system issues and implement enhancements.
  • Ensure system security, compliance, and best practices are maintained.
  • Provide technical support and training to internal teams as needed. Required Qualifications & Skills
  • 3+ years of experience in OMS administration, preferably with GE OMS (eOMS) or CGI OMS.
  • Strong understanding of Outage Management Systems, including their role in grid operations and outage response.
  • Experience working with GMS modules and integrating OMS with other enterprise applications.
  • Proficiency in AMI Filtering Rules Engine technologies and related troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with real-time power grid operations and utility industry best practices.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams. Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with SCADA, DMS, or EMS systems in a utility environment.
  • Knowledge of SQL, scripting, or automation tools for system maintenance.
  • Experience with cloud-based or hybrid OMS deployments.
