Platform Services Operations is looking for a motivated and solution focused, hands-on Senior Database Engineer to join us to boost effectiveness and accelerate delivery flow. Based in Manassas, VA, you will be working alongside a dynamic team of Oracle DBA experts and engineers. Your team is fully responsible for the design, optimization and operations of the database platform. This DevOps team engages in the product evolution; covering software architecture, development, quality assurance, security, operations and IT infrastructure aspects.

You will work in a truly international environment with main hubs across three continents. We have global reach and impact but operate fast as we are a relatively small company.

What to expect

In this role you will:
  • Analyze technical and functional requirements and translate them into software solutions. Understand dependencies toward other systems and teams.
  • Design, develop and integrate third party components including system testing and installations.
  • Develop automation to complete installations, configuration, tuning and maintenance of database management.
  • Provide technical assistance to colleagues and assist in resolving problems reported by other team members.
  • Prepare user documentation, installation guides and operating procedures.
  • Support the delivered software and be part of a 'Center of Expertise' problem solving team. Analyze support cases and, when appropriate, provide solutions following the established case management processes.

What will make you successful?

We are seeking professionals with:
  • Requires 5 -7 years of experience in Oracle databases technical area
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field
  • Experience working with the following:
  • Worked on Oracle Database Enterprise Edition 12c and 19c with expertise in multi-tenancy & partitioning.
  • DataGuard for Disaster Recovery (DR)
  • RAC - Real Application Clusters for local resiliency
  • GoldenGate for logical data replication
  • Ansible for installation and configuration automation
  • Jenkins/CloudBees for release management through CI/CD pipeline
  • 5+ years; DevOps and database infrastructure release management
  • Jenkins/CloudBees, Ansible
  • Languages: Python, Shell scripting, Java
  • Good knowledge of IT security, mainly in the DBA area


Preferred qualifications:
  • Oracle Database 12c/19c Administrator Certified Associate (OCA) or Professional (OCP) is a plus.
  • Knowledge on Oracle Advanced Security, Transparent Data Encryption and Database Vault.
  • Knowledge of TLS/SSL and configuration of Oracle Wallet.
  • Experience with RHEL operating system.
  • Experience with Confluence/Jira tools or equivalent.


The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position in Virginia is 92,120 MINIMUM to 171,080 MAXIMUM USD. Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
