Title: Sr. Information Systems Engineer - Vulnerability Management - (Only W2, No C2C)
Duration: 6+ months
Location: Kirkland, WA
Sr System Engineer will be an integral part of the System Engineering team and closely partner with the Compliance and Security teams.
The role will require a technical understanding of Linux infrastructure and container and VM best practices to improve security. This position will mainly participate in vulnerability troubleshooting, including reviewing scan results, risk analysis and calculations to identify true risk within the environment and influence and drive remediation.
Note: This position also requires passing a ServiceNow background screening called USFedPASS (US Federal Personnel Authorization Screening Standards). This includes a credit check, criminal/misdemeanor check and taking a drug test. Any employment is contingent upon passing the screening.
What you get to do in this role:
Partner with stakeholders to drive down vulnerabilities and develop mitigation strategies across the organization.
Submit exceptions or extensions and remediate vulns, looking for root cause and process improvements
Write knowledge articles as needed
Assist with defining hardening policies that will improve our security posture
Review, consult and prepare for planned change introduction to ServiceNow environment.
Partner with teams to plan and execute software code upgrades as needed.
Skills: In order to qualify for and be successful in this role, you should have:
Solid infrastructure support foundation as well as experience with containers and/or VMs
Solid understanding of and have experience with most of the following infrastructure services.
Kubernetes or docker, Puppet, Ansible, Imaging, Artifactory, Git
Familiarity with programming language components for java and python
Ability to script and analyze large data sets
Solid understanding of Linux
Hands-on experience with vulnerability management tools and strong technical understanding and experience assessing vulnerabilities and identifying weaknesses in cloud infrastructure services.
Ability to partner with peers who are globally distributed is a key part of this role.
