About the Role:

• The main function of a hardware prototype engineer is to research, design, develop, test high-density, wearable electronics.
• The candidate will work with emerging technologies in a fast-paced team.

Job Title: Hardware Engineer V

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and approve plan layout, including creating new designs and modifications of existing designs.
• Review and approve product prototypes, working models or theoretical models constructed with computer simulation.
• Write detailed functional specifications and design flow/tradeoff.
• Support new technology introduction.
• Act as a subject matter expert to engineering staff and consult specifications to evaluate interface between hardware and software and operational and performance requirements of overall system.
• Provide training and support to system designers and users.
• Design and develop hardware and support peripherals, including system-on-chip (SoC), support logic, microprocessors, custom integrated circuits, and system interconnection.
• Direct technicians, engineering designers or other technical support personnel as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
• Minimum 10+ years of professional experience.
• High density Rigid/flex board design and system integration experience.
• Hands on lab skills.
• Ability to do rapid prototyping with what's available.
• Ability to drive projects with high ambiguity, multiple paths, and fuzzy future to clarity.
• Understanding of core tech areas, such as SoC, sensor, wireless, audio, display, interfaces (USB, MIPI, PCIE, SPI, I2C).
• Embedded software basics.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field is preferred.
• FAANG or Big Tech background preferred.

Location: Sunnyvale, CA [Onsite]

Salary Range: The salary for this position is between $166,400 $270,400 annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
