Job Description
Florida Department of Financial Services (DFS) is a state agency of Florida. Its headquarters are in Tallahassee, the Sunshine States Capital City. DFS is seeking candidates to join its Office of Information Technology Team to serve as a Microsoft Windows Server Administrator.
The Microsoft Windows Server Administrator will be responsible for managing and maintaining systems running on the Microsoft Windows Server operating system. Their role ensures the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of IT infrastructure.

Responsibilities:
- Install and configure Windows Server OS, roles (e.g., Active Directory, DNS, DHCP), and features.
- Apply OS updates, service packs, and patches to ensure system security and stability.
- Use Active Directory to manage users, groups, and organizational units.
- Implement Group Policies to enforce security and configuration settings.
- Monitor logs, review access, and perform regular security audits to detect and prevent threats.
- Configure disk partitions, RAID setups, and storage spaces.
- Set up regular backups using tools like Windows Server Backup or third-party solutions and test recovery procedures.
- Manage Domain Name System and Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol services.
- Set up and manage shared folders, file permissions, and network printers.
- VPN, RDP (Remote Desktop Protocol), and other remote access services securely.
- Deploy and manage virtual machines.
- Sync on-prem AD with Azure AD, set up hybrid environments, and manage cloud resources if applicable.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware/software/server issues.
- Provide support for users experiencing system or access issues.
- Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
- Analyze performance and tweak settings for optimal performance.
- Monitor usage trends to plan for scaling resources or upgrading infrastructure.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Microsoft Windows System Administrator.
- Proficiency in English language.
