Job Titles: Instructional Designer – Global Supply Chain Training
Location: Remote (United States), Travel: Up to 10%
Duration: 12+ months Contract
About the Role:
We are hiring a Contract Instructional Designer to support a Global Supply Chain organization by designing and delivering modern, high-impact training programs. This role focuses on enterprise system training, including SAP S/4HANA and procurement platforms, for both internal employees and external supplier audiences. You’ll design end-to-end learning experiences—from needs analysis through delivery—across eLearning, instructor-led training (ILT), virtual classrooms, blended learning, and microlearning. Success in this role requires strong visual design skills, a human-centered approach, and the ability to collaborate closely with SMEs, IT partners, and global stakeholders. This is an ideal opportunity for a self-directed instructional designer who enjoys rapid iteration, prototyping, and creating training that directly supports operational performance.
What You’ll Do:
Instructional & Visual Design
- Design and develop end-to-end curricula and learning programs
- Partner with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to define learning objectives and audience needs
- Apply human-centered and end-user design principles
- Create job aids, quick reference guides, interactive PDFs, and training documentation
- Build digital learning using Articulate Storyline 360, Articulate Rise, and Camtasia
- Produce facilitator guides, scripts, and materials for ILT and virtual training
- Edit and standardize presentation decks for workshops and training sessions
- Design and maintain training intranet pages using basic HTML and GUI tools
- Deliver final assets in .doc, .pdf, .mp4, and .wmv formats
- Ensure all materials align with brand and visual standards
Learning Technology & Systems
- Maintain training content and libraries within LMS and internal web platforms
- Research, recommend, and support learning technologies for supply chain and ERP training
- Support and influence adoption of virtual classroom technologies
- Advise stakeholders on best practices for effective learning technology usage
- Partner with IT teams on SAP S/4HANA transformation training initiatives
Program & Project Support
- Define and apply metrics to evaluate training effectiveness
- Co-lead project planning and rollout for:
- eLearning modules
- Video microlearning
- Mobile learning initiatives
- Provide technical and instructional support during virtual classroom sessions
- Maintain training records and support LMS upgrades and enhancements
- Stay current on modern learning design trends and tools
- Ensure training solutions are scalable, measurable, and globally deployable
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree with 5–10 years of experience in instructional design, learning & development, curriculum development, visual communication, or software training
- Portfolio required demonstrating instructional and visual design work
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects with strong attention to detail
- Experience working directly with SMEs to gather requirements
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Comfortable working in global, cross-functional environments
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
Required Technical Skills:
- Adobe Creative Cloud: InDesign, Acrobat Pro, Illustrator, Photoshop
- eLearning Tools: Articulate Storyline 360, Articulate Rise, Camtasia
- Microsoft Tools: PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Planner
- Analytics & Automation: Power BI, Power Automate, Qualtrics
- Experience with virtual classroom platforms and LMS environments
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with SAP or procurement system training (e.g., iValua)
- Needs analysis experience for enterprise system implementations
- Basic HTML and intranet/website editing
- LMS administration or platform support experience
- Experience supporting virtual instructor-led training
- Exposure to software or application implementations
- Comfortable with public speaking (small to mid-sized groups)
