Description
We are looking for an experienced Data Governance Manager to lead the development and implementation of data governance frameworks and strategies within our organization. This role requires a proactive leader who can manage cross-functional teams, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive data quality initiatives across various departments. Based in San Antonio, Texas, this position offers an opportunity to shape how data is managed and utilized in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement comprehensive data governance frameworks to ensure data quality and integrity.
Collaborate with technical and non-technical teams to establish best practices for data management and compliance.
Utilize tools such as Power BI and Erwin Data to analyze, visualize, and manage organizational data.
Lead initiatives to maintain regulatory compliance with frameworks and public sector data requirements.
Manage metadata repositories, data warehousing technologies, and governance tools to support organizational objectives.
Facilitate cross-functional meetings to align stakeholders and address data-related challenges.
Oversee multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced, evolving data landscape.
Provide project management support to ensure timely delivery of data governance initiatives.
Document processes and maintain organized records to support ongoing data governance efforts.
Promote a culture of data stewardship and continuous improvement across the organization.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Data Management, Public Administration, or a related field; equivalent experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis, up to four years.
Minimum of seven years of experience in data governance, information management, or related roles.
Proficiency in Business Intelligence tools such as Power BI and Microsoft SQL.
Certified Data Management Specialist or related data governance certifications.
Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance frameworks and public sector data requirements.
Experience with data governance tools, metadata repositories, and data warehousing technologies.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills for engaging with diverse stakeholders.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
