Job Description and Role expectation

Role Overview

Seeking an experienced Product Owner to lead the design, delivery, and optimization of Foreign Exchange (FX) product capabilities. This role demands strong market knowledge, technical delivery expertise, and the ability to structure and prioritize work in Agile environments. He/She will own the product backlog, ensure alignment with strategic objectives, and coordinate across business, vendor, and client stakeholders to deliver high-quality, compliant FX solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Product Vision & Roadmap
  2. Define and maintain the FX product roadmap, aligning with business goals, regulatory changes, and market opportunities.
  3. Identify opportunities for product innovation in FX pricing, execution, settlement, and reporting.
  4. Agile Delivery & Backlog Management
  5. Own and prioritize the product backlog using Agile tools such as Jira and Rally.
  6. Structure backlog clearly into Epics, Features, and User Stories with detailed acceptance criteria.
  7. Ensure all backlog items are traceable to business objectives and measurable outcomes.
  8. Facilitate sprint planning, backlog refinement, and daily stand-ups as required.
  9. Testing & Delivery Oversight
  10. Develop strategies for System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
  11. Coordinate and oversee testing activities to validate functionality, performance, and integration with downstream systems.
  12. Work closely with QA teams, vendors, and business users to ensure defects are resolved promptly.
  13. Stakeholder Engagement
  14. Act as the bridge between business teams, technology partners, vendors, and external clients.
  15. Gather, validate, and prioritize requirements from diverse stakeholder groups.
  16. Provide regular product updates and manage expectations across global teams.
  17. Market & Regulatory Awareness
  18. Monitor FX market structure, macroeconomic developments, and regulatory requirements.
  19. Incorporate compliance and operational risk considerations into product designs.
  20. Performance Monitoring
  21. Define product KPIs and track adoption, trade volumes, and user satisfaction.
  22. Continuously improve product performance using feedback loops and data insights.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Proven Product Owner experience in FX or related capital markets domain.
  • Deep understanding of FX trade lifecycle from pricing to settlement.
  • Hands-on experience with Jira and Rally for backlog and sprint management.
  • Strong capability in defining Epics, Features, and User Stories in detail.
  • Experience designing and managing SIT and UAT processes.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills across business, vendors, and clients.
  • Familiarity with electronic trading platforms (FXall, 360T, Bloomberg FXGO, EBS) and API integrations.
