Job Details

Westfalia Technologies, Inc. is currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer to specialize in ASRS (Automated Storage and Retrieval System) system integration. The role entails collaborating on projects to seamlessly integrate mechanical components into ASRS systems, ensuring efficient operation and performance.

Job Functions:

  • Generate and deliver detailed installation drawings for Automated Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS) projects, encompassing mechanical equipment, power bus, crane rail, satellite rail, SRMs, and transfer cars.
  • Develop specifications for purchased equipment and liaise with vendors to clarify technical requirements within their scope.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to update and enhance system equipment bill of material (ESS) and AutoCAD design layouts.
  • Undertake system integration tasks, synthesizing information from client facilities, Westfalia-provided equipment, customer assets, and third-party components, resolving issues as they arise.
  • Conduct quality checks on engineering work as part of the quality assurance process.
  • Offer technical support during field installation and commissioning phases.
  • Develop standardized documentation for ASRS systems.
  • Contribute to achieving company objectives, including:
    • Enhancing departmental efficiency by driving down KPI of hours/conveyor.
    • Improving the quality of engineering deliverables.
    • Meeting project schedules for Systems Engineering deliverables.
    • Document and implement engineering changes throughout project lifecycles.
  • Support various departmental functions, potentially including configuring automated material handling equipment and preparing drawings and bills of materials (BOMs) for manufacturing.


Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously with moderate technical oversight, exercising creativity and problem-solving within company guidelines.
  • Strong prioritization skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills and capacity to collaborate within multidisciplinary teams, facilitating clear interaction with diverse stakeholders such as Sales, Applications Engineering, project managers, suppliers, contractors, and technicians.
  • Eagerness to learn and develop expertise in ASRS system design principles, conveyors, and related material handling equipment.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications and technical analysis.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD.
  • Knowledge of ASRS components and integration.
  • Knowledge of appropriate industry standards (ANSI, OSHA, IEC, CE, etc.).
  • Candidates are required to have their own hand tools.


Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Experience with ASRS projects.
