Description

SAIC is seeking a Senior Technical Writer Configuration Manager to maintain several program documents including but not limited to the Configuration Management Plan (CMP), Software Requirements Specifications (SRS), and Software User Manual (SUM). The Software requirements database also requires continuous updates to requirements, issues, and status which are used to generate reports and support decision making for continued software support activities.

This is a Hybrid/ Remote role in San Diego, CA. Must be local to area.

JOB DUTIES:
  • Develop, write, and edit material for reports, manuals, briefs, instructions, and related technical and administrative publications concerned with the methods, procedures, installation, operation, and maintenance of software systems and related hardware.
  • Conduct configuration management for data repositories, documents, and distributed media (physical and electronic) by uploading, submitting, routing, distributing, archiving, and generating artifacts and media.
  • Perform requirements management and data entry to record, revise, and report changes to requirements and create new requirements and their associated issues within electronic databases including Jira and Confluence.


Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelors degree and six (6) years or more experience as a Technical Writer and configuration management in a software engineering environment; 2 years of experience with Jira project management software to include updating, new task creation, and report generation.
  • Must have an Active Secret Clearance to start.
  • Experience working in customer environments and collaborating with other contracting firms.
  • Knowledge and experience in developing and revising technical and administrative documents with inputs from teammates are required for technical writing efforts.
  • Knowledge and experience with accessing, handling, and transporting classified material are required.
  • Knowledge and experience using computers to generate software distribution packages using specific software applications are required for creating deliverable packages on different types of media.
  • Knowledge and experience using Jira and Confluence to search and locate content, edit and update entries, create new entries, and generate reports will be required for requirements management.

Target salary range: $80,001 - $120,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
