Senior Electrical Engineer Control Systems (Liquid Cooling Solutions)
Location: Woburn, MA
Travel: Minimal (typically <5%, domestic and international)
We re looking for a hands-on Senior Electrical Engineer to design and develop electrical and control panel systems for cutting-edge liquid cooling products involving both high and low voltage applications. You'll play a key role in the full product development lifecycle, from concept and prototyping through production and field support.
In this role, you ll collaborate closely with mechanical, refrigeration, and manufacturing engineers to create efficient, safe, and scalable cooling systems. You ll be responsible for electrical component selection, schematics, wire run lists, and control system design, including PID loops for temperature, pressure, and flow control.
Whether you re programming firmware for PLCs or coordinating with embedded software engineers, your work will ensure every system meets performance, reliability, and compliance standards, on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
< data-start="1413" data-end="1457">Control System Design & Integration</>Design and develop control system architectures for advanced liquid cooling systems
Implement control algorithms to manage cooling capacity in real-time using sensor feedback (temperature, humidity, load)
Integrate sensors, actuators, and controllers to create reliable, efficient system responses
Generate and maintain electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control layouts
Program PLCs and configure HMI interfaces specific to cooling system operation
Validate and commission control systems, ensuring smooth system startups and stable performance
Troubleshoot control systems during development and post-deployment
Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure system performance and functionality
Participate in technical design reviews, contributing control system insights and optimizations
Assist in project planning, scheduling, and budgeting
Maintain clear documentation for all designs, configurations, and programming changes
Develop test plans and conduct system verification and validation
Ensure compliance with applicable electrical and safety standards (e.g., UL, CE)
Qualifications
< data-start="2743" data-end="2761">Education</>Bachelor s degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, Electro-Mechanical Engineering, or related field
Advanced degrees or HVAC/refrigeration certifications are a plus
5+ years designing and programming control systems, including panel design
3+ years of hands-on experience with PLC programming, HMI development, and sensor integration
Strong working knowledge of communication protocols such as RS-232, RS-485, Ethernet, SNMP, REST APIs
Solid understanding of thermal management, control systems, and automation fundamentals
Proficient in reading and creating electrical schematics, wire diagrams, and control logic
Familiar with control firmware development or coordination with software teams
Experience using mixed-signal oscilloscopes, DVMs, and other diagnostic tools
Comfortable with PLM and MRP systems (Oracle Cloud is a plus)
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting capabilities
Strong communication skills with a collaborative, team-first mindset
Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
Additional Requirements
