JOB SUMMARY:
Support the DFM (Design for Manufacturing) Technology Center by executing measurement-related projects that provide process capabilities of details, assemblies, and aircraft in the Textron Aviation Production System. Operate advanced metrology equipment and software in support of root cause investigations, reverse engineering, and process capability. Coordinate with design teams to provide dimensional management plans throughout the design and build process. This includes advanced variation sequence, variation analysis, detail part datum generation, and tooling index strategies. Collaborate with Product Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Tooling, and Value Stream Leaders/Managers to support experimental and production root cause corrective actions.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Troubleshoot and conduct root cause analysis and provide solutions for design-related, tooling, or manufacturing related issues during the experimental and production build process.
- Analyze, interpret, and present aircraft inspection data to determine prospective areas of improvements or troubleshoot manufacturing issues.
- Reverse engineer parts, assemblies, and tools without electronic design information.
- Conduct metrology surveys of existing aircraft assemblies and parts.
- Support installation of aircraft parts and assemblies using metrology practices.
- Assist with planning and execution of measurement-related projects using portable coordinate measuring machines (PCMM), laser trackers, hemispherical 3D laser scanners, photogrammetry, and software required to drive the devices and process the resulting data.
- Support delivery-critical root cause corrective action (RCCA) projects with targeted measurements in a time-efficient and expedited manner as needed.
- Demonstrate focused attention to safe operation and handling of high-value equipment.
- Ensure that all team members are familiar with given tasks, required PPE, and are aware of any hazards in the work area.
- Perform other duties as required.
- Develop build methodologies for complex systems and components that capture all necessary functional requirements for the aircraft.
- Lead working level design/build meetings to identify optimal manufacturing methods, part sequencing, part and tooling index plans and document results.
- Perform variation analysis using statistical methods to determine manufacturing build plans.
- Provide Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) support and analysis.
- Recommend and develop new manufacturing processes and procedures to improve aircraft fabrication and assembly.
EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree required in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field
- Manufacturing design or relative engineering experience preferred.
QUALIFICATONS:
- Understanding of aircraft and aircraft systems.
- Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint proficiency and Visual Studio programming a plus.
- Experience in manufacturing processes, metrology, and GD&T a plus.
- Experience with CATIA V5/V6.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills - able to clearly communicate technical details to others.

- Experience with Innovmetric PolyWorks is a plus.
