Department Overview
The Gas Operations Asset Knowledge Management (AKM) organization's vision is to enable risk-informed, data driven decision-making by leveraging and improving records/data, managing and integrating data systems, and deploying strategic technology solutions. The major functions of the AKM organization include data management; emerging technology RD&D; technology deployment and development; and asset registry data management and improvement.
AKM works closely with partners across Gas Operations and IT to collaboratively and strategically supporting PG&E's mission critical processes. The AKM organization has been recently delegated as the GO As-Built Process Owner and is now accountable to ensure as-builts are managed appropriately. This is aligned with the organization's accountability to delivery an accurate asset registry.
Position Summary
Responsible for supporting the Geographic Information System (GIS) in developing and executing the plan associated with performing the review, accuracy, validation and conversion of historical records pertaining to gas distribution assets into the GIS and assessing additional capabilities to support future processes for enhanced asset and integrity management.
Location is flexible within the PG&E Service Territory, please note hiring leader will make final decision of what are appropriate headquarters for the role based on business need.
This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory.
Position will require approximately 25% of travel time in work schedule.
Position Duties (may include but are not limited to)-
A reasonable salary range is:
Bay Area Minimum:$132,000
Bay Area Maximum: $226,000
OR
California Minimum:$125,000
California Maximum: $215,000
Job Responsibilities
Consults with business process owners regarding user needs.
May be assigned to one large, complex business application or multiple smaller, less complex systems.
Leads team to gather, analyze and document business requirements for complex projects.
Governs end-to-end complex business processes and coordinates with IT to develop and implement solutions to information needs.
Anticipates, identifies, and fully meets the business needs through an understanding of current and future business environment.
Anticipates concerns and questions, and provides proactive, timely and professional communications or delegates as appropriate
Consults with business process owners on the impact(s) of technical changes to collective business processes. Leads user acceptance testing (UAT) or functional testing. Ensures timely completion and quality validation with users.
Ensures proactive, timely and professional communications to users regarding system status or enhancements.
May perform or lead feasibility analysis, business case development, develop project scope, and provide recommendations on the alternative solutions, project strategy and deliverable prioritization.
Develops and maintains metrics for assigned systems/tools or project(s).
May have oversight for end user training for assigned system.
Participates as a key contributor for steering committees with line of business and IT teams that define, review and approve requirements for enhancements.
Provides leadership on the business analysis work that has strategic importance for the corresponding IT organization.
Manages team to accomplish results through recruitment and selection, training and development, performance management, and rewards and recognition.

- Partner with IT as part of the Technology, Strategy, and Solution organization to determine the requirements of the Distribution GIS and identify required technological solutions for all identified functionalities
- Work with key business process owners (i.e., Distribution Integrity Management Program, etc.) to define and implement processes to ensure critical asset information is captured in a timely manner and data integrity is maintained for all modifications and maintenance to the gas distribution system

Qualification-
Minimum:
- BA/BS in Business, Engineering, Computer Science/Information Systems, etc. or equivalent work experience.
- 10 years of job-related experience in Business, IT, or Engineering fields and/or related education.
Desired:
- Leadership experience
- CA Professional license in mechanical or civil engineering
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline.
- A minimum of eight (8) years or equivalent experience in gas engineering, mapping supervision, and/or GIS implementation/deployment.
