Role: Java Technical Lead

Location: Atlanta, GA or Charlotte, NC

HYBRID : On-Site 2 x week

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Java Technical Lead to lead our Java development team in designing, developing, and delivering high-performance, scalable enterprise applications. As a Technical Lead, you will be responsible for providing technical guidance, reviewing code, ensuring adherence to best practices, and mentoring junior developers while working closely with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of Java-based applications.

  • Guide team members in technical architecture and design decisions.

  • Ensure high code quality through code reviews, unit testing, and continuous integration.

  • Collaborate with product managers, architects, QA, and DevOps teams to deliver high-quality software on time.

  • Translate business requirements into technical specifications.

  • Maintain and improve existing systems; identify and fix performance bottlenecks.

  • Mentor and support junior developers, fostering a culture of learning and improvement.

  • Stay updated with emerging technologies and recommend adoption when appropriate.

  • Ensure adherence to Agile/Scrum processes and participate in sprint planning and retrospectives.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s or Master s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

  • 7+ years of professional Java development experience.

  • 2+ years in a technical leadership or team lead role.

  • Strong expertise in Java (8 or above), Spring Framework (Core, Boot, MVC, Security).

  • Experience with RESTful APIs, Microservices, and Cloud Platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform).

  • Proficiency in relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle) and ORM frameworks (Hibernate, JPA).

  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI), source control (Git), and build tools (Maven/Gradle).

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
