Job Details

Title: Wireless Test Engineer || Location: Greenwood Village, CO - Onsite

Job Responsibilities:
There is a lot of backlog work in the lab which has been on hold and they need someone to come in and perform this work.
This includes lab work with 5g,4g, DOCSIS WAN, wifi. Help run testing in the lab and manage the lab.
Use lab equipment like spectrum analyzers, generators, and power meters
Lab testing and setup. Support the work in the lab, manage the existing DOCSIS and RAN systems. Manage the routings, software upgrades and upgrades in the lab.

MUST HAVE:
Knowledge to work and test in Lab environments. This is a hands on role.
Knowledge of 5g, routing, networking, WAN, RAN, wifi, and RF.
Experience working with lab testing equipment such as Spectrum Analyzer, Signal Generator, Power Meter, Network Analyzer
Experience with a broad range of wireless access technologies in key networking elements such as routing, switching, and security
Good attitude. Someone who is willing to learn and work with a team.

Description:
* Responsible for the development and evaluation of Wireless Radio Access Network (RAN), 5G and DOCSIS architecture, infrastructure and products.
* Evaluates and develops software architecture and platform necessary to demonstrate proofs of concept
* Work with new technology development and validation to include: Studying new technology trends, formulating impact statement of such technologies on client's wireless technology strategy and services offering(s), validating the capabilities of such technologies through lab evaluation and possibly field trials.
* Develops tools and processes for technology innovation and proof of concept demonstration
* Assess new product requirements, develop technology and architecture solutions and evaluate performance in support of those requirements.
* Supports other initiatives including improved wireless network security and virtualization of network functions, along with new applications supporting potential new services.
* Supports new wireless technological development for potential IoT activities and architectures.
* Responsible for engineering activities in the lab for validation, testing of new wireless technologies
* Integrates wireless architectures, topologies, hardware, software, transmission and signaling links and protocols into complete network configurations.
* Construct test plans to validate functional, performance, and business requirements for the technologies over Client's infrastructure
* Evaluate, select, and deploy new test tools and automation frameworks.
* Study future technology developments and formulate associated testing strategies.
* Provide timely and accurate information and status updates to functional leaders.
* Provide day to day leadership, mentoring, and technical guidance to team members in the lab.
* Ensure projects are accurately estimated and delivered according to schedule.
* Work with vendors and Engineering to resolve issues and design flaws.

What duties will the employee perform?
* Lab testing and setup.
* Support the work in the lab, manage the existing DOCSIS and RAN systems.
* Manage the routings, software upgrades and upgrades in the lab.
* Support Characterization of the coexistence of RAN and DOCSIS by leveraging DOCSIS as a key interface.
* Benchmark key performance indicators for5GNROC, DOCSIS and RAN, study the mutual impact on both networks with the enablement of enhancements in DOCSIS like LLD,PGS, AQM, Highsplit and L4S.
* Create a complete end-to-end dimensioning guideline for CBRS and DOCSIS coexistence considering high-split, LLD, AQM and L4S. Low latency instrumentation in the lab.
* Also demonstrate the use of common HW and SW for vCU and vCMTS deployment as part of access convergence network evolution.
* Come up solutions to manage traffic and utilization when both RAN and DOCSIS need more resources.

* Knowledge to work and test in Lab environments
* Knowledge of RF hardware and familiarity with RF measurements instruments (Spectrum Analyzer, Signal Generator, Power Meter, Network Analyzer)
* Knowledge of LTE and NR layers (L1, PHY,MAC,RRC etc) protocols (OFDM, modulation, timing/synchronization, random access etc.)
* Knowledge of RAN technologies (vRAN, MIMO, Timing and Sync with GPS, PTP)
* Knowledge of radio/BBU/DU/CU configuration and management ( handling of eNB/gNB).
* Experience with a broad range of wireless access technologies in key networking elements such as routing, switching, and security.
