The Systems Analyst for the Student Financial Aid (SFA) office at The Ohio State University will serve as subject matter expert for the Student Information System (SIS) with content, processes and procedures of PeopleSoft applications. Applies functional knowledge to design and customizations of workflow systems that enable functions by integrating knowledge of Student Information Systems with in-depth knowledge of and experience with student financial aid functions and current systems technology. Provides research and analysis for the development of functional requirements. Provides analysis and design of users' needs and translates into functional requirements. Participates in design and requirements walk-through to assure completeness. Writes and conducts testing plans. Prepares and maintains training documentation and delivers system training to campus partners. Assists with functional support, including business research and resolutions. Works in a team environment to review current business practices and recommend changes as appropriate. Serves as resource to SFA staff in regards to PeopleSoft applications, functionality; instructs staff on systems functions and usage. Assists with functional support, including business research and resolutions. Serves as account coordinator for system security (internal and external systems) and maintenance. Creates and maintains database applications, ad hoc queries and reports to support office workflow. Provides assistance in imaging system work flow business process map design. Assists in setting project goals, objectives, and timetables. Ensures compliance, collaborates to revise priorities and maximize resources. Assures all work-units are compatible with the ADS Development Lifecycle Methodology and other established OCIO Best Practices. Performs other duties and/or special projects as assigned.
Education/Experience
Required: Bachelor's Degree preferably in Management Information Systems, Computer and Information Science or Business Administration or equivalent combination of education and experience. 2 years of relevant experience required. At least one year work experience in Student Information Systems and student financial aid is also required. Must be proficient in understanding relational database structure and utilizing query tools to access data. Strong analytical, interpersonal, and written communication skills is required. This position requires successful completion of a background and credit check.
Desired: Preferred minimum years of relevant experience: 2-4. Working knowledge of OCIO processes and procedures and demonstrated understanding of University business processes is desired. Experience in writing technical documentation and training manuals. Ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously is preferred.
This is a two-year term position.
Additional Information:
The pay range for this position is $58,700 - $60,000. The offer for this position will fall within this range based on internal equity, unit's available budget, and the candidate's qualifications.
