Java Developer

Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for a Java Developer for a CONTRACT assignment with one of our premier SaaS clients in San Jose, CA . This is a hybrid role.

We are seeking a highly skilled Java Developer with strong backend development experience to join our dynamic and collaborative team. The ideal candidate is proficient in Java and has hands-on experience with enterprise applications, APIs, microservices, and modern development frameworks. You'll play a key role in designing, building, and maintaining scalable and high-performance systems that power core business functionality.

Responsibilities :

• Design, develop, test, and deploy high-quality Java-based applications.
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices using frameworks like Spring Boot.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product, QA, DevOps, and other Engineering teams.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices.
• Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and technical discussions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
• Continuously improve application performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Contribute to architecture and design decisions for new features and services.

Required Skills :

• 5+ years of professional experience with Java development.
• Strong experience with Spring/Spring Boot, Hibernate, and related frameworks.
• Solid understanding of REST APIs, JSON, and web services.
• Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Git, Maven/Gradle, and build tools.
• Good knowledge of design patterns, data structures, and algorithms.
• Comfortable working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Preferred Skills :

• Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Familiarity with containerization tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Exposure to message brokers like Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Prior experience in enterprise SaaS environments is a plus**
