Overview
As a Senior Systems Architect you will be the subject matter expert for enterprise monitoring and observability platforms. You will design, implement and operate LogicMonitor and similar tools across diverse customer environments. You will also integrate these platforms with ServiceNow and remote monitoring & management (RMM) systems to provide proactive monitoring, automated remediation and intelligent incident management. The role combines technical leadership with hands on engineering; you will guide a team of engineers, collaborate with stakeholders and personally deliver complex configurations.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor architecture & configuration
- Lead the design, deployment and ongoing optimization of LogicMonitor and other monitoring platforms across on-premises and cloud infrastructure (servers, networks, storage, virtualization). Develop custom data sources, dashboards and alerting strategies.
- Integrate monitoring with automation tools; Leverage LogicMonitor's supported connections (Ansible, StackStorm and Terraform) to automatically provision, manage and remediate infrastructure.
- ServiceNow & incident management integration
- Build and maintain a ServiceNow integration that centralizes visibility and automates incident management. LogicMonitor's integration can proactively create incidents in ServiceNow with severity, priority and assignment information, enabling accurate prioritization and reducing mean time to resolve.
- Map devices, incident templates and organizations so that RMM alerts generate context rich incidents and notifications in ServiceNow.
- RMM platform leadership
- Oversee RMM tools (N-able, ConnectWise Automate, Tanium or similar) to provide continuous, automated monitoring of endpoints and servers. Use insights from RMMs to drive proactive maintenance, patch management and remote support across multiple client environments.
- Work with the RMM team to standardize agent deployment, tune alert thresholds and automate routine tasks.
- Automation & scripting
- Develop automation workflows and scripts using multiple languages (PowerShell, Python, Groovy).
- Utilize automation integrations (e.g., EventDriven Ansible) so that alerts trigger remediation actions (e.g., automatically restarting a web server when a LogicMonitor alert fires).
- Contribute to code repositories, maintain automation inventories and advocate for best practices across the organization.
- Leadership & collaboration
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to a team of systems engineers. Act as the escalation point for complex monitoring and automation issues, and partner with network, cloud, security and operations teams.
- Develop runbooks, documentation and training materials. Collaborate with ServiceNow administrators to align monitoring data with ITSM processes.
- Continuous improvement
- Evaluate emerging observability, RMM and automation technologies. Recommend enhancements that improve efficiency, reduce alert noise and integrate more systems.
- Ensure compliance with security and governance requirements, maintain configuration management database (CMDB) accuracy and participate in disaster recovery planning.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- 5+ years of systems engineering/IT operations experience, with at least 3 years configuring LogicMonitor or similar monitoring platforms.
- Proven expertise with RMM solutions; ability to leverage RMM tools to proactively track system health, automate maintenance tasks and trigger alerts.
- Practical experience integrating monitoring platforms with ServiceNow for incident management. Understanding of how LogicMonitor can automatically create incidents and provide severity/assignment details in ServiceNow.
- Familiarity with ITSM/PSA tools (Autotask, ConnectWise), network infrastructure, virtualization (VMware), Windows and Linux systems, and cloud platforms (Azure/AWS).
- Excellent troubleshooting, communication and leadership skills; ability to guide a team while remaining hands-on.
- Certifications in monitoring/observability (LogicMonitor, Splunk), scripting (PowerShell), cloud (Azure, AWS) or ITSM (ITIL).
- Experience with infrastructure - as - code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation) and security monitoring (EDR/XDR).
- Exposure to CMDB management and event deduplication/AIops platforms.
- Comprehensive medical benefits
- Competitive pay
- 401(k) retirement plan
- and much more!
