Job Summary

The Operational Excellence Solutions Architect identifies opportunities in existing customer business processes to architect and design Operational Excellence frameworks/technology. This includes a wide range of AI tools and technologies including but not limited to Intelligent Document Processing, Generative AI, Speech Transcription and Analytics / Natural Language Processing, Robotic Process Automation, and others. This Architect functions as an integrator between the business and technology to create solutions for customers based on business requirements. This role provides technical leadership and guidance for Operational Excellence delivery teams and other Bread Financial Intelligent Automation resources during project delivery. Additionally, this Architect has responsibility to architect, design, modify, develop, code review, write and implement Operational Excellence Solutions on multiple domains.

The main objective for this Architect is to design, develop, and deploy a wide range of AI systems in alignment with the Operational Excellence technology solutions that will interact with Bread Financial systems, associates, and customers to automate business processes.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Collaboration - Work with the Bread Financials Operational Excellence Center of Excellence (COE) to drive automation pipeline, but not limited to TCO/ROI analysis, best practices, and Operational Excellence program/project management. Act as technical advisor or partner for AI technologies to other elements of the Bread Financial organization including IT solutions architecture teams. Work closely with different departments and Operational Excellence delivery teams as needed. Deliver demos, technical training, and support for new/existing customers.
  • Strategy - Support development team and provide technical solutions, effort estimation, and delivery strategy. Grow and identify Operational Excellence sales opportunities within assigned accounts. Identify opportunities to optimize tool utilization across all technical solutions (new use cases, new scenarios in existing use case, scheduling etc.). Identify opportunities to improve success rate (reduction in failures etc.). Validate business case and return on investment (ROI) which can be submitted for review and approval.
  • Operational Excellence Assessment and Design - Understand how multiple AI technologies integrate or interact and recommend solution architectures that optimize value while balancing costs. Determine Operational Excellence fitment/technical feasibility for automation. Develop and review Detail Process Description, Process Description Document (PDD). Develop and review detailed Solution Design Document (SDD). Plan and implement code version control implementation best practices for Operational Excellence release management. Perform detailed estimations towards the finalized in-scope processes planned under development sprints.
  • Requirements and Documentation - Collate AI technology requirements from the development teams including but not limited to Robotic Process Automation, Generative AI, and Natural Language Processing. Anticipate, identify, track, and resolve technical issues and risks affecting delivery. Understand and communicate underlying technology requirements or configurations to deliver solutions including but not limited to databases, servers, and other enablement tools. Publish monthly metrics to business stakeholders. Define processes complexity for Operational Excellence with respect to existing Operational Excellence technology.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:
  • This position is hybrid with an onsite schedule of 3-4 days per month. In-office requirements are subject to change based on business needs. This position is currently available to candidates that reside within 60 miles of Columbus, OH.
  • Some travel may be required.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 7+ years of work experience architecting solutions.
  • Experience with a broad range of technical solutions including but not limited to Data Science, Generative AI, Automation or Unstructured Data tools.
  • Experience in analyzing data to draw business-relevant conclusions.
  • Experience in Agile/Best Practices.
  • Experience in Unit Testing/Test Driven Development.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Experience in Task Mining and Process Mining, Automated Testing, Document Understanding, AI/ML.
  • Experience working with SMEs and business stakeholders to drive change, automation and continuous improvement.
  • Experience handling best practices with data science or process automation.
  • Experience working on large-scale projects.
  • Experience integrating leading practices on process discovery and mapping into the day-to-day delivery of business requirements documents.

Typical Starting Range:
$133,500.00 - $241,900.00

Full Salary Range for position:
California: $153,500.00 - $302,400.00

Colorado: $133,500.00 - $254,000.00

New York: $146,800.00 - $302,400.00

Washington: $140,100.00 - $278,200.00

The actual base pay within this range may be dependent upon many factors, which may include, but are not limited to, work location, education, experience, and skills.

Bread Financial offers medical, prescription drug, dental, vision, and other voluntary benefits (including basic and optional life insurance, supplemental medical plans, and short and long-term disability) to eligible associates (regular full-time associates scheduled to work 30 hours per week or more) and their spouses/domestic partners, and child(ren) under the age of 26. New associate elected coverage begins on date of hire (with the exception of disability coverage which has a 6-month waiting period). Six weeks of 100% paid parental leave for eligible parents is available after a 180-day waiting period. Hired associates can immediately enroll in Bread Financial's 401(k) plan.

All associates receive 11 paid holidays. Associates have discretion in managing their time away from work through the Flexible Time Off (FTO) program and may need to notify and receive approval from their manager prior to taking the time off. Associates (except those located in Illinois) receive 80 hours of Paid Sick and Safe Time ("PSST") upon hire and at the beginning of each subsequent calendar year. Illinois associates receive 40 hours of Illinois PSST upon hire and at the beginning of each subsequent calendar year and 40 hours of Illinois Paid Leave upon hire and at the beginning of each subsequent calendar year. Illinois Paid Leave must be used before associates in Illinois will be approved to take FTO.

Hired associates will be able to elect the purchase company stock during offering periods in June and December. You will be eligible for an annual incentive bonus based on individual and company performance.
