RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Daytona Beach, FL that is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Network Security Engineer to join their cybersecurity team. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining secure network infrastructures with a strong focus on Fortinet security solutions within a Microsoft-based environment. The ideal candidate will have deep technical expertise in network security, hands-on experience with Fortinet technologies, and a strong understanding of Microsoft enterprise tools and services.
Responsibilities
* Design, deploy, and manage Fortinet security appliances (e.g., FortiGate, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, FortiAuthenticator)
* Monitor and respond to network security incidents, ensuring timely resolution and documentation
* Implement and maintain secure network architectures across on-premises and cloud environments (Azure preferred)
* Collaborate with IT and DevOps teams to integrate security best practices into infrastructure and application deployments
* Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing; remediate findings
* Develop and enforce security policies, procedures, and standards aligned with industry best practices and compliance requirements
* Manage firewall rules, VPN configurations, and intrusion prevention systems (IPS)
* Utilize Microsoft tools (e.g., Active Directory, Azure AD, Microsoft Defender, Intune) to enhance endpoint and identity security
* Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers and participate in security awareness initiatives
REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field (or equivalent experience)
* Fortinet NSE certifications (NSE 4 or higher) strongly preferred
* 5+ years of experience in network security engineering
* Proficiency with Fortinet products and centralized management tools
* Strong knowledge of Microsoft enterprise environments including Windows Server, Azure, and Microsoft 365
* Experience with SIEM tools, preferably FortiSIEM or Microsoft Sentinel
* Familiarity with scripting (PowerShell, Python) for automation and reporting.
* Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience with Zero Trust architecture and NIST cybersecurity frameworks
* Exposure to hybrid cloud environments and secure cloud networking
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
