Job Description
As the Chief Reliability Engineer, you will work under limited supervision to plan, organize, manage, and evaluate designated engineering projects and programs, ensuring all phases are completed successfully within appropriate timeframes and budgets. You will supervise, enhance, and monitor designated engineering practices for the site while providing expert technical guidance to the site management team.
Your responsibilities will include reporting environmental compliance issues, investigating and developing recommendations for engineering projects, and potentially serving as Project Manager or technical expert on large/complex site construction, expansion, or modification projects. You will also evaluate and administer vendor contracts for services and equipment and contribute to site strategic planning and budgeting efforts.
The ideal candidate will bring advanced engineering knowledge, strong project management skills, and the ability to effectively lead and develop teams in a complex industrial environment.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Plan, organize, manage, and evaluate designated engineering projects and programs.
  • Supervise, enhance, and monitor designated engineering practices for the site.
  • Report environmental compliance issues and make recommendations to appropriate site management.
  • Supervise or review, investigate, and develop appropriate recommendations regarding planned engineering projects.
  • Serve as Project Manager or technical expert on large/complex site construction, expansion, or modification engineering projects.
  • Provide guidance and counsel to the site management team on applicable programs, practices, and existing/proposed regulations.
  • Evaluate and administer contracts with vendors for services and equipment.
  • Contribute to site strategic planning and budgeting efforts for designated engineering areas.
  • Represent the site on company-sponsored steering teams.
  • Follow safety practices and recognize hazards in the work environment.
Required Experience/Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline and seven (7) years of experience in Engineering or related scientific field, including lead or supervisory experience, OR Master's degree in an Engineering discipline and five (5) years of experience in Engineering or related scientific field, including lead or supervisory experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of the principles and practices of Engineering.
  • Ability to research and analyze complex information and draw valid conclusions.
  • Skilled in managing large/complex engineering projects.
  • Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
  • Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards.
  • Skilled in supervising, evaluating, training, and motivating employees.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.

Nice-to-Haves
  • CMRP Certification (Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional).
  • Experience in mining or metallurgical operations.
  • Knowledge of copper smelting processes.
  • Experience with environmental compliance in heavy industry.

Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in an Engineering discipline required.

  • Salary range: $116,000 - $162,500 per year
