Lead Cyber Security Architect

Job Details



SFI is seeking a Lead Cyber Security Architect to design and oversee secure system architectures supporting both classified and unclassified environments. This individual will lead security engineering efforts across mission-critical platforms, driving compliance with DoD frameworks and embedding security throughout the product lifecycle.


Key Responsibilities



  • Architect secure systems across cloud, on-prem, and hybrid infrastructures

  • Lead threat modeling and security design reviews

  • Develop zero trust architectures and defense-in-depth strategies

  • Define secure CI/CD pipelines and supply chain risk management practices

  • Guide ATO readiness and support accreditation efforts

  • Collaborate with engineering, DevOps, and compliance teams

  • Act as a subject matter expert for internal and external stakeholders

  • Mentor junior security engineers and promote a strong security culture


Required Qualifications



  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Cybersecurity, CS, or related field

  • 8+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with 3+ years in a lead/architect role

  • Experience designing secure systems in defense or DoD settings

  • Proficiency with NIST, RMF, Zero Trust, and secure cloud platforms (AWS GovCloud, Azure Gov)

  • Knowledge of containerization (Kubernetes), IAM, and infrastructure as code

  • U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain a Secret or TS/SCI clearance
