Data Engineer - DB2

Dexian is looking for a data engineer to work on critical systems for our client in Houston. This position will require a minimum of 3 days onsite per week.

Required skills:

• Develop and maintain various database applications on the IBM iseries platform, utilizing dynamic SQL, convert RPG code to SQL stored procedures, performance tuning, logging and exception handling.


• Expert SQL stored procedures, development experience in db2 IBM iseries platform.


• Able to read RPGIV, RPGLE, RPGFree programs, embedded SQL

Nice to have Skills:

• Conversion/modernization experience from RPG to SQL stored procedures in db2


• IBM tools such as Aldon, RDI, ACS etc


• Application development experience interacting with front end using REST APIs, Json


• exposure to python, microservices, VS code IDE development


• git source control and integration
