Summary:
Solid fundamentals in Communications Engineering, Proven experience based on level of the position. Technical Leadership for more Sr. Level roles

Skill Required:
Systems Engineering Experience and/or Certification
Experience with integration and testing of optical communications systems or component sub-systems
Working knowledge of communication engineering theory and application
Experience providing technical solution of complex communication problems
Ability to communicate and collaborate with inter-organizational teams/employees and outside customer contacts
At least 1 yr experience with antenna specifications, testing, and RF data collection
Experience with network spectrum analyzers, software defined radios, and sub wavelength analysis
Experience in lab environments with setup of radios, running experiments, collecting data, providing routine maintenance, and recording accurate documentation
Experience with any RF type communications protocols
Experience with programming software defined radios
Knowledge of Very Low Frequency (VLF) communications
Knowledge of different antenna types and capabilities
Knowledge of High Frequency (HF) analogue and digital techniques
Knowledge of signal propagation with RF, HF, and VLF
Senior skill set includes ability to perform all stated/implied duties within this tier and those reasonably derived from preceding tiers

Education/Certifications - requirements based on position level
BS Degree in Electrical, Computer, or Software Engineering + 10 years of related engineering experience
OR
BS Degree in an engineering discipline AND MS Degree in Electrical, Computer, or Software Engineering + 7 years of related engineering experience
OR
BS and/or MS Degree in an engineering discipline AND PhD Degree in Electrical, Computer, or Software Engineering + 4 years of related engineering experience

Certification:
Professional Engineering License desired
Systems Engineering Certification desired
Relevant core and advanced certifications as established/required per local, national and international industry standards or as necessitated by performance expectations associated with level of appointment
