Job Description:
Drives end-to-end development of high-level architecture of FPGA platform hardware and translates platform-level requirements to circuit and component-level specifications ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
Review of the multi-disciplinary platform-level (Landing Zone) requirements and translating into design.
Design and implement high-speed digital interfaces, including PCIe, DDR4/5, Ethernet, and SERDES, ensuring signal integrity and compliance with industry standards.
Collaborates with System & IP architects, other platform hardware design engineers, hardware verification engineers, technical project managers, and technicians to plan and lead seamless platform hardware and firmware integration for smoother power-on and debug activities.
Applies design expertise to define processes for technical platforms, system specifications, input/output, and working parameters for hardware and software compatibility.
Theoretical & practical assessment of feedback from other functions (Like verification, validation, manufacturing, and customer) to improve design.
Performs schematic capture, circuit trace routing rules, PCB layout oversight from feasibility to board tape-out, and coordinate with fabrication vendors to ensure timely and accurate board production.
Conducts thorough testing and validation of hardware designs, utilizing tools such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and signal integrity analyzers.
BOM analyses like cost Vs availability & design trade-offs at the board and system levels.
Resolves bring-up issues to deliver high-quality boards and platforms for customers.
Develops comprehensive documentation, including design specifications, user manuals, and test procedures, to support product development and customer usage.
Stays abreast of emerging FPGA technologies and industry trends to inform design decisions and maintain competitive advantage.
