What you'll do: The VP, Data Analyst will play a critical role in supporting Customers Bank's Operational Strategy Team by delivering accurate, insightful, and actionable data analysis. This position is responsible for gathering, validating, and interpreting operational and financial data to inform strategic decision-making, monitor key performance indicators, and identify opportunities for process improvement. By transforming complex datasets into clear insights, the VP, Data Analyst will help drive operational efficiency, manage risk, and support the bank's long-term growth objectives.

  • Conduct quantitative analyses to evaluate operational efficiency, risk metrics, and financial performance.
  • Identify and interpret data patterns, anomalies, and opportunities to support process improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Finance, Risk, Operations, Technology) to gather data requirements and ensure data accuracy
  • Present clear, concise, and actionable data summaries for senior management.
  • Support data governance efforts to improve accuracy, consistency, and security of operational data.
  • Monitor and assess effectiveness of implemented strategies, making recommendations based on data insights.
  • Extract, clean, and analyze large datasets from multiple banking and operational systems.
  • Design and maintain performance dashboards to monitor KPIs, operational trends, and project outcomes.
  • Stay up to date on emerging data tools, analytics best practices, and banking industry trends.
  • Support Gen AI adoption and scaling efforts

What do you need?

  • 5+ years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or operational reporting-ideally in financial services, banking, or consulting.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in working with complex datasets.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking abilities.
  • Ability to communicate technical findings to non-technical audiences.
  • Collaborative mindset-comfortable working closely with strategy, operations, and senior leadership.
  • Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Business Analytics, Statistics, Finance, or a related field.

Technical Skills

  • Strong proficiency in SQL and Excel for data manipulation and analysis.
  • Experience with BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or MicroStrategy.
  • Familiarity with statistical analysis and data visualization best practices.
  • Bonus: Experience with Python or R for advanced analytics.
  • Familiarity working with Generative AI tools.
