Description

We are looking for a skilled Systems Administrator to join our team in Bakersfield, California. This role involves managing a mixed Linux and Windows environment, supporting both on-premise systems and cloud-based applications. As a Contract-to-permanent position, this opportunity offers a pathway to long-term employment for the right candidate.

Responsibilities:
Manage and maintain a hybrid infrastructure, including Linux and Windows systems, ensuring optimal performance and security.
Provide technical support for escalated issues and assist entry-level IT team members with troubleshooting and resolution.
Oversee system patching, upgrades, and maintenance to ensure systems remain up-to-date and secure.
Administer and support key applications, including Google Workspace, Byte, and HR/payroll systems.
Monitor and maintain a self-managed disaster recovery site located in a Los Angeles colocation facility.
Support and manage cloud-hosted web applications, ensuring their reliability and performance.
Utilize a cloud-based ticketing system to track and resolve IT issues efficiently.
Collaborate with entry-level IT staff to foster knowledge-sharing and focused development.

Requirements

1-4 years of experience in systems administration, with hands-on expertise in Linux and Windows environments.
Strong understanding of Linux security and related technologies.
Proficiency in managing Google Workspace and other enterprise applications.
Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
Solid communication and organizational skills to work effectively within a team.
Familiarity with patch management and system upgrade processes.
Experience with disaster recovery planning and implementation.
Knowledge of cloud-hosted application management and support.
