Job Description:

Client is looking for a very strong Application BA and if they have worked in an Agile Environment and Utility Industry (Any GIS, Smart Meter, Itron, SAP ISU or Meter to Cash, General Utility) that is highly preferred.

The IT Business Analyst is responsible for aligning IT strategy with overall business strategy and Client strategic imperatives. This position has a primary focus on client s IT Utility Operations portfolio and assists in project prioritization and ensuring that projects align with the IT standards. Utility Operations includes applications and services focused on geographic information system (GIS) and meter-based solutions such as Siemens Meter Data Management System, Itron Head End/UtilityIQ, ESRI ArcGIS platform, and GE Smallworld. Utility Operations supports client s Meter to Cash and Outage to Restore value chains.

Position will serve as liaison between business units and IT technical teams, working with the business to understand future goals and objectives in order to develop strategic plans, transform them into investment proposals and facilitate budgetary schedule and cost estimation processes. Responsible for execution of the requirements process to translate business needs into functional specifications, including the establishment of standards, use-cases, templates, and critical processes (i.e. requirements, change control, requirements traceability). Provide Operational Support to ensure customer incident/service requests are handled in a timely manner and there are no impacts to daily operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage business to review vision, goals, strategies, risk mitigation, and objectives to develop and maintain IT roadmaps for capital planning.
  • Serve as an expert in business needs and maintaining context for improving business and IT alignment.
  • Maintain awareness of business objectives, including critical business problems and business goals.
  • Keep abreast of industry trends and innovations in technology.
  • Work with the Service Delivery Managers and Business Unit leaders to maintain an understanding of business/client priorities and functional processes.
  • Provide Operational Support (through Incident Management, Service Request Oversight, Problem Management, Change Request/Enhancements, Compliance Support, and Application Environment Management) to achieve service excellence.

Create and maintain all work products related to the project management process (e.g., business case, use case, functional specification, solution design specifications, requirements traceability matrix, and financial models) to ensure they the work products are comprehensive for transition to the development teams for detailed design and the creation of test scripts.
