RESPONSIBILITIES:
A client with Kforce is seeking an Senior API Security Engineer to join their team remotely. This person must be able to work EST hours. The Engineer comes with 5-7 years of experience, including at least 2-4 years securing APIs in production environments, to harden communication paths between wallets, blockchain networks, KYC providers, and vault systems. They will ensure the integrity, confidentiality, and authenticity of cross-service API interactions.
Key Responsibilities:
* Secure wallet-to-chain, wallet-to-KYC, and wallet-to-vault API integrations
* Implement encryption, token validation, and mutual TLS for sensitive communication
* Conduct threat modeling and enforce robust API security controls and rate limiting
* Work with engineering and DevOps teams to embed security into API lifecycle
* Monitor API traffic for anomalies, abuse, or potential exploits
REQUIREMENTS:
* 5-7 years of experience in application or infrastructure security
* 2-4 years focused on securing REST, GraphQL, or gRPC APIs
* Deep knowledge of OAuth2, JWT, mTLS, and API gateway security policies
* Experience with vault services like HashiCorp Vault and KYC integrations
* Proficiency in scripting languages like Python or Go
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
