As an aerospace engineer, specializing in propulsion, you will be involved in the research, design, development, test, certification, deployment and improvements of cutting edge products and services for propulsion systems on our aircraft. You'll develop the master plans, complex systems, analyses, and tools required to maintain the economic service life of the propulsion systems. Your technical duties involve supporting the design and development, analysis, and test of new products and processes throughout the product lifecycle, as well full integration into the operations and sustainment of the product.

Estimated Starting Salary Range: $94,345.12 - $129,724.54. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors, such as candidates' key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.
SNC offers a generous benefit package, including medical, dental, and vision plans, 401(k) with 150% match up to 6%, life insurance, 3 weeks paid time off, tuition reimbursement, and more.

This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance. Responsibilities
- Develop, mature, and maintain the processes and analyses of the propulsion system integrity program
- Develop and maintain system requirements, architectures, and designs in alignment with customer needs
- Coordinate with powerplant OEMs to ensure the requirements of propulsion system integrity are met
- Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to address potential technical challenges
- Prepare and present technical reports and status updates to senior management and customers
- Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to drive innovation and continuous improvement
- Support testing and demonstration efforts
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Bachelor's of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or other related discipline and typically 2 or more years of relevant experience
- Higher education may substitute for relevant experience
- Basic knowledge of engineering principles and practices
- Familiarity in Numerical Computation environments, such as MATLAB
- Familiarity with turbine engines and propulsion system installations
- Experience working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams
- The ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Familiarity with Computer Aided Engineering tools and Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
- Exposure to Engineering Simulation such Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and Thermal Analysis using tools such as StarCCM or CFD++
- Understanding of aircraft performance and stability and control
- Familiarity with wind tunnel and aircraft flight test
- Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry
- Understanding of system-level static and dynamic modeling and simulation
- Exposure to aircraft stability principles and control system design and analysis
- Knowledge of industry standard aerospace principles, to include, but not limited to parametric design, model-based definition, fundamentals of flight mechanics
- Working knowledge of MIL-STD-3024 / MIL-HDBK-1783 / JSSG-2007 / MIL-HDBK-514
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, including the ability to clearly express technical concepts in verbal and written forms; ability to tailor conversations to adapt to audiences including technical, program management, operators, maintainers, customers, and subcontractors
- Prior experience in developing and/or executing an engine monitoring program
