As a Senior Planning Engineer, you will interact with others in and outside of the organization, working within networking facilities and data centers. You will Plan the implementation or plan the initiation of projects that implement and/or remove network equipment within our network facilities and data centers. Your contributions will have a direct impact on the business.
Job Description:
The Main Responsibilities
- Manages floor space, power, and cooling for regionalized network facilities/data centers.
- Project manage rack space and power implementations at network facilities/data centers.
- Schedule the Installation of Infrastructure by setting FCD and DCD.
- Works in the implementation of new plant construction or modifications to existing facilities.
- Orders all Materials needed for the job and tracks parts with material vendors.
- Bid Jobs with labor Vendors and Issue Labor requisitions.
- Coordinates between field, Labor Vendor and CCM and complete the implementation on time and budget.
- Assure that the most feasible, practical, and economical means to complete the work are utilized. Provides cost data to support capital planning and budgeting.
- Monitors and controls project expenditures.
- Utilizes skills in planning and/or engineering.
- Resolves interoperability problems to obtain operations across all platforms including e-mail, files transfer, multimedia, teleconferencing and the like.

3. Vendor Coordination and Job Bidding Experience
4. Knowledge of Power Systems (AC & DC)
5. Experience in network engineering that includes a substantial business/financial focus
6. Strong Excel, Access, Visio, SQL
7. Organizational knowledge and tools
8. Planning Engineer DWDM Long Haul Network
9. Experience with Infinera DTN-X platforms
10. DWDM is more than Just a Nice to Have.
11. Must have a Planning Background
Planning must include Space - Cage Power etc., and putting all the
pieces together for the Net Build
12. Including the development of the Engineer Design Package EDP
