Job Details

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Oracle DBA with deep expertise in Oracle 19c, SAP database administration, and strong experience working in AMS (Application Management Services) environments. This role combines day-to-day operational/database support with engineering responsibilities such as automation, optimization, migrations, and solution design.

The ideal candidate will be capable of supporting enterprise-level environments, ensuring high availability, and driving continuous improvement across Oracle and SAP database platforms.

Key Responsibilities

AMS & Operations Support

  • Provide 24x7 support for Oracle and SAP databases under an AMS delivery model.

  • Handle incident, problem, and change management aligned with ITIL processes.

  • Perform health checks, proactive monitoring, and capacity planning.

  • Ensure all SLAs and KPIs are met for database availability, performance, and stability.

Engineering & Project Work

  • Design and implement database solutions, including upgrades, migrations, and modernization initiatives.

  • Develop automation scripts to streamline DBA workflows and operational efficiency.

  • Work closely with architecture teams to define High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) strategies.

Core DBA Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain Oracle 19c and SAP-related Oracle databases.

  • Perform backup/recovery using RMAN and manage Data Guard configurations.

  • Conduct performance tuning, SQL tuning, indexing, and resource optimization.

  • Execute patching (in-place & out-of-place), upgrades, and new database builds for 19c.

  • Implement and maintain Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) monitoring and alerting.

  • Ensure optimal performance and reliability of SAP on Oracle environments.

Required Qualifications

  • 12+ years of professional Oracle DBA experience.

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with Oracle 19c.

  • Direct experience with SAP database administration (SAP on Oracle).

  • Strong background in AMS operations, including ITIL processes (incident, problem, change).

  • Expertise in PL/SQL, SQL query optimization, and performance tuning.

  • Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix & Windows, shell scripting, and automation.

  • Experience with HA/DR, clustering, Data Guard, and enterprise architecture best practices.

  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
