Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Oracle DBA with deep expertise in Oracle 19c, SAP database administration, and strong experience working in AMS (Application Management Services) environments. This role combines day-to-day operational/database support with engineering responsibilities such as automation, optimization, migrations, and solution design.
The ideal candidate will be capable of supporting enterprise-level environments, ensuring high availability, and driving continuous improvement across Oracle and SAP database platforms.
Key Responsibilities
AMS & Operations Support
Provide 24x7 support for Oracle and SAP databases under an AMS delivery model.
Handle incident, problem, and change management aligned with ITIL processes.
Perform health checks, proactive monitoring, and capacity planning.
Ensure all SLAs and KPIs are met for database availability, performance, and stability.
Engineering & Project Work
Design and implement database solutions, including upgrades, migrations, and modernization initiatives.
Develop automation scripts to streamline DBA workflows and operational efficiency.
Work closely with architecture teams to define High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) strategies.
Core DBA Responsibilities
Install, configure, and maintain Oracle 19c and SAP-related Oracle databases.
Perform backup/recovery using RMAN and manage Data Guard configurations.
Conduct performance tuning, SQL tuning, indexing, and resource optimization.
Execute patching (in-place & out-of-place), upgrades, and new database builds for 19c.
Implement and maintain Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) monitoring and alerting.
Ensure optimal performance and reliability of SAP on Oracle environments.
Required Qualifications
12+ years of professional Oracle DBA experience.
5+ years of hands-on experience with Oracle 19c.
Direct experience with SAP database administration (SAP on Oracle).
Strong background in AMS operations, including ITIL processes (incident, problem, change).
Expertise in PL/SQL, SQL query optimization, and performance tuning.
Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix & Windows, shell scripting, and automation.
Experience with HA/DR, clustering, Data Guard, and enterprise architecture best practices.
Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
