Data Protection Analyst
Reston, VA (Day 1 On-Site- Hybrid Module- 3 Days a Week- The Client will only consider tri-state area local candidates only- D.C./VA/MD)

Job Description:

The Data Protection Analyst is responsible to engage IT teams in implementing required security measures to protect personally identifiable and other sensitive data in databases as well as files. Analyst is also responsible for analyzing large volumes on data, identify trends, relationships using advanced Excel features/PowerBI and provide actional recommendations.

1. Technical Proficiency: This includes knowledge of data security, cryptography, and various security tools. Familiarity with tools like data scanning tools, data encryption methods, reviewing Splunk logs is important. Experience in using any programming language to automate routine tasks is an advantage.

2. Analytical Thinking: The ability to analyze complex data, identify potential security threats, and develop strategies to mitigate risks is essential. This involves critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

3. Communication Skills: Effective communication is vital for explaining security measures to non-technical stakeholders, writing clear reports, and collaborating with other teams to ensure comprehensive security practices.
