Job Details

Job Title - SQL Server Database Administrator

Location - New York, NY (Hybrid)

Duration: 12 months with possible extension

Note This is a W2 position and H1B Transfers are welcome to Apply.

Responsibilities

  • Consulting Services: Partner with clients to assess their database needs, providing expert advice and solutions tailored to their specific requirements.
  • Database Design and Implementation: Participate in the design and deployment of new database systems, ensuring scalability, reliability, and optimal performance.
  • Performance Optimization: Analyze and tune existing database systems to improve performance, responsiveness, and resource utilization.
  • Data Accuracy Assurance: Be a stickler for data accuracy, ensuring that all database information meets the highest standards of precision and quality.
  • Security Management: Implement and enforce database security policies and access controls to safeguard sensitive data.
  • Data Backup and Recovery: Develop and maintain backup and recovery strategies to protect critical data assets.
  • Capacity Planning: Monitor database growth trends and plan for future capacity requirements to ensure scalability.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations, procedures, and best practices.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, system administrators, and project managers, to ensure seamless integration of database systems.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve database-related issues and incidents, providing timely support to clients.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies in both database administration and your specialized field.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years in banking and financial services, with a focus on IT and operations project management, knowledge of Core Banking products and payment architecture.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree with computer science as a major concentration.
  • Proven experience as a Senior Database Administrator, with a minimum of 7 years in database administration.
  • Expertise in database management systems (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL).
  • Strong knowledge of database design, performance tuning, SQL query optimization, and data accuracy assurance.
  • Experience with database security protocols and best practices.
  • Proficiency in backup and recovery solutions.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex database issues.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively drive solutions with clients and team members.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional, Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate) are a plus.
