Job Title: Senior Business Analyst (Data Management & Financial Services)
Location: Mississauga, ON (Hybrid)
Duration/Term: Long Term Contract
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Business Analyst with expertise in RDBMS (Oracle, SQL, MongoDB), Big Data HDFS platforms, and complex data investigations. The ideal candidate will lead data transformation, quality assessment, and architecture standardization, ensuring efficient data acquisition and consumption. This role requires strong analytical skills, financial domain expertise, and stakeholder collaboration to drive high-impact business solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Transformation & Quality Assurance:
- Develop transformation logic to support data acquisition and consumption
- Assess data quality in development and testing phases, leading resolution efforts.
- Define source-to-target mappings, documenting transformation rules.
- Enhance standards for logical and physical data model development.
Technical & Analytical Leadership:
- Leverage strong RDBMS experience (Oracle, SQL, MongoDB).
- Conduct complex SQL investigations for data repair, migration, and issue resolution.
- Utilize Big Data HDFS-based platforms for data analysis and investigations.
- Work with large Data Warehouses & Big Data Lakes (30+ TB) for financial systems.
- Ensure high-quality software development, maintaining documentation and traceability.
Collaboration & Communication:
- Partner with consumption technology and business teams to deliver standardized solutions.
- Work with globally diversified teams across multiple time zones.
- Maintain regular communication with architects and modelers to ensure consistency.
- Provide expertise in Agile/Scrum methodologies, collaborating with project managers and support teams.
Regulatory & Financial Domain Expertise:
- Apply industry best practices in Capital Markets, Risk Management, and Regulatory Reporting.
- Utilize GIT, JIRA, and Excel for project management, analysis, and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with financial services regulations, improving business reporting accuracy.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- 7+ years of experience in Financial Services, Regulatory Environments, or related fields.
- Strong expertise in SQL, RDBMS (Oracle, MongoDB), and Big Data platforms (HDFS, Hive, Impala, Spark).
- Hands-on experience in Front/Middle/Back-office systems.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex business and data processes.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong understanding of logical data structures and analysis techniques.
