Job description:
Basic Function:
The Director, Program Portfolio is accountable for planning and allocating resources, work with finance team on budgets, monitoring, tracking, and management of delivery progress, and keeping stakeholders informed throughout the project lifecycle. (S)he will bring to this organization thought leadership and vision in guiding global business, IT process owners towards continuous improvement by establishing governance on program/project management practices.
Essential Duties and responsibilities
Accountable to instill an AI-first mindset within the PMO team (S)he manages with focus on efficiency, increase quality and stakeholder experience.
Create and deliver compelling presentations for client executives, other senior leaders, and customers.
Manage the development, maintenance, and monitoring of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Manage and coordinate risk assessments, operational vendor relationship management (not individual activity per vendor), project manage product selections and work with vendor management on negotiation of contracts for the programs in scope
Work with IT executives to develop annual PMO plans with corresponding resources, costs, and tactical plans to increase the programs success.
Collaborates with other IT teams and facilitate the definition of metric and needed reporting for portfolio of programs in scope
Lead the group of Project Managers to work on different aspects of PMO projects and programs (both General-led and led by other IT functions) and monitor progress and adjust as needed.
Accountable for the successful delivery of the PMO programs and execution of aspects of project life cycle
Build trusted relationships with internal and external (GBS, Divisions/BU) stakeholders and subject matter experts. Ensure client requirements are approved and delivered as part of various programs and projects
Collaborates with other IT Functions to leverage capabilities as well as to provide with reports and information
Accountable with PM onboarding to the team(both employees and contractors) and developing solutions to reduce the duration of onboarding (seamless onboarding), which includes both process improvements as well as improvement in hiring requirements to focus on hiring top talent
Working with functional leaders ensure resource availability and allocation to required projects to reach objectives and help the functional leaders in managing resources in an effective and efficient manner.
Oversee optimization of resource pools (project-based versus dedicated role based) and how it aligns to
PMO needs.
Manage Click Time data tracking and developing meaningful actionable reports, as needed.
- Assist in the development of business cases while working with the associated leaders.
Interface with other IT Function around demand and intake process to ensure client requirements are formally approved in scope
Leverage best practices, lessons learned and emerging trends to develop actionable roadmaps that will allow the PMO to implement program/project capability improvements in accordance with desired outcomes.
Ensures all programs use best practices in Change Management to ensure bot the success of programs as well as increase the experience quality of changes programs in scope deliver
Lead CoE for PMs with focus on adoption of best practices and AI Ensure programs Provide end user training as needed
Additional Knowledge& Skills - Job Qualifications
Education
Required: Bachelor s Degree with preference in Information Technology, or related field
.Preferred: Master s Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology
10 years-of demonstrated progressive experience in IT, Program management, security risk management, compliance and/or change and transformation management.
Experience with projects/programs with security governance and IT general control frameworks such as ISO2700x, HiTrust, Cobit, ITIL, NIST CSF, NIST 800-53, PCI-DSS, Identity Management etc.
Prior experience in managing PMOs and PM CoEs
3+ years experience with shared services model, vendor and/or managed services
3+ years management, enterprise-wide transition and/or transformation programs
Entrepreneurial mindset and proactive way to managing work.
Able to deliver with limited oversight and take accountability of actions.
Excellent presentation skills, both creating slides and delivering presentations to a variety of audiences
Preferred: Master s Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology
Required Experience:
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
- Proven ability to solve problems creatively.
- Strong familiarity with project management software tools, methodologies, and best practices
- Experience seeing projects through the full life cycle.
- Excellent analytical skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and extremely resourceful
- Proven ability to complete projects according to outlined scope, budget, and timeline.
