Job Description:
- Must have lineman/powerline experience, 2-5 days, not guaranteed 5 days.
- Daylight hours, hours can vary from 7am-6pm and 10-40 hours weekly
- A Distribution Quality Inspector with 10 to 15 years of experience is a senior professional responsible for overseeing the quality and safety of utility distribution systems, including power lines, substations, and associated equipment.
- They are instrumental in ensuring compliance with industry regulations and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Quality Inspections: Lead and conduct in-depth inspections of distribution systems, including power lines, transformers, and substations, to ensure they meet industry regulations and quality standards. Safety Oversight: Oversee safety procedures and practices, ensuring strict compliance to prevent accidents, incidents, and hazards. Initiate and conduct safety training for the team.
- Documentation and Records: Maintain comprehensive and accurate records of inspection findings, including photographs, measurements, and test results. Ensure documentation is organized and up to date.
- Defect Identification: Identify and document defects, irregularities, or non-compliance issues. Provide expert insights into the severity of issues and recommend corrective actions.
- Testing and Measurement: Utilize advanced testing and measurement equipment for in-depth evaluation of distribution assets, diagnosing complex issues and providing solutions.
- Reporting and Communication: Prepare detailed inspection reports, communicate findings to relevant stakeholders, and provide recommendations for corrective actions. Interact with regulatory authorities when necessary.
- Collaboration and Leadership: Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams, leading efforts to schedule and prioritize necessary repairs and maintenance activities based on inspection results.
- Regulatory Expertise: Maintain an in-depth knowledge of industry regulations and standards, including the National Electric Safety Code (NESC), and ensure strict adherence to all regulations.
- Data Analysis and Continuous Improvement: Analyze inspection data and trends, leveraging your extensive experience to identify opportunities for process improvements and system upgrades.
- Mentoring and Training: Provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced team members. Lead training initiatives and ensure the team is well-versed in best practices.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- A bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred.
- 10 to 15 years of experience in utility distribution quality inspection or a related field.
- Expertise in distribution systems, electrical equipment, and safety protocols.
- Profound knowledge of industry standards and regulations, with an emphasis on the NESC.
- Proficiency in using advanced testing and measurement equipment.
- Exceptional attention to detail, observational skills, and analytical abilities.
- Superior documentation and report-writing skills.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively at all organizational levels.
- Strong leadership and team collaboration capabilities.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement initiatives.
