We are seeking a highly skilled AWS Solutions Architect to join our Enterprise Architecture team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in AWS cloud computing and will play a crucial role in guiding our development teams on cloud-based architectures. This position requires a strategic thinker with strong technical expertise and excellent communication skills.

How you will make an impact:

  • As part of a team of architects, design cloud architectures that meet business requirements and align with the four tenets of IT at ISO New England: Efficiency, Reliability, Security and Cost Effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with development teams to evaluate needs and provide architectural guidance in using the right patterns and services for solutions.
  • Facilitate the definition of standards and best practices for cloud solutions by working with technical teams.
  • Prototype solutions, create reference architectures, and promote re-usability.
  • Create and maintain current and future state solution architecture diagrams, and communicate architectural decisions to stakeholders.
  • Stay current with the latest trends for AWS services, tools, and best practices to help define the organization's roadmap for adoption of new services and technologies.

What you need to be successful in this role:

  • Bachelor s degree in computer science or related degree.
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate (minimum) or AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional (preferred).
  • 7+ years experience in software development and designing and implementing solutions with AWS services including serverless computing and IaC (Terraform).
  • 5+ years experience as a solutions architect or experience providing cloud architecture guidance and technical direction to developers.
  • Ability to design and implement solutions that meet the AWS Well-Architected framework.
  • Experience with cloud migration strategies and tools.
  • Strong ability to work collaboratively in a team environment across IT and business partners, exceptional problem-solving skills, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Electric industry experience is a plus.
