This is an exciting opportunity to work on the Fleet Ballistic Missile Program (FBM), a 63-year-old Program with a long-standing history of Mission Success and of a strong partnership with our Navy Customer! The new Systems Engineering Sr will support the Mechanical Ground Support Equipment (MGSE) team in the development and refresh of mechanical support equipment for the FBM program.
In this dynamic role you will:
Play a leading role in transforming the Ground Support Equipment (GSE) team into a fully Model-Based organization, including the implementation of the "Full Digital Thread" from Concept & Requirements all the way through to Model-based Manufacturing, Integration, Verification & Deployment
Work as a thought leader and pathfinder to develop, optimize & demonstrate best practices and modern MBSE processes & standards for incorporation into the GSE team
Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints
Research and identify digital capabilities available and developing at the Enterprise and commercial levels for utilization as opportunities on the FBM program
Typical minimums to be successful in this role are a Bachelor's degree and 5-9 years of professional experience.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in mechanical or systems engineering from an accredited college or a related discipline or equivalent experience/combined education
Understanding of mechanical engineering processes and how systems engineering supports the product life cycle
Familiarity with SysML/MBSE tools and common modeling approaches
Direct Experience and exposure to one or more Systems Engineering processes and Systems Integration functions at the enterprise / SoS level, including:
a) Enterprise-level trade studies and/or enterprise architecture modeling
b) Mission-level requirements analysis and definition of top-level interfaces among major system components
c) SoS-level Integration, Test and/or Verification of requirements across major interfaces
d) Verification/ validation planning and execution with an understanding of all the interdependencies) Design reviews/ control gates
Must have an active or current Top Secret clearance
Desired skills
Masters degree in systems engineering
OCSMP System Modeling Certification
Experience working in an Agile project management
Experience with OOSEM
Working knowledge of Model Based Engineering (MBE), DOORs, Enterprise Architect, Rhapsody
Systems Modeling software experience (Cameo/MagicDraw/Rhapsody)
Experience applying architecture frameworks (DODAF, ABD, Harmony, etc.)
Missile or GSE design/test experience with one or more subsystems or disciplines outside of Systems Engineering
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong social skills, and ability to build consensus among peers while building solid relationships with team members

Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $85,500 - $150,765. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer. Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays. (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays.
