Position: Guidewire PolicyCenter Business Analyst

Location: Urbandale, IA

Visa: No OPts

Experience: 9 to 10 years overall

Responsibilities:

  • Work as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams to gather, analyze, and document business requirements for Guidewire PolicyCenter implementations and enhancements.
  • Conduct workshops, requirement-gathering sessions, and gap analysis to understand client needs and translate them into functional specifications.
  • Collaborate with product owners, SMEs, and development teams to define business rules, workflows, and policy lifecycle processes (Quote, Bind, Issue, Endorsement, Renewal, Cancellation).
  • Create and maintain requirement artifacts including BRDs, FRDs, user stories, acceptance criteria, and process flow diagrams.
  • Support configuration and integration requirements related to PolicyCenter modules and third-party systems (billing, claims, document management, rating engines, etc.).
  • Partner with QA teams to define test scenarios, support UAT, and ensure solutions meet business expectations.
  • Participate in backlog grooming, sprint planning, and agile ceremonies (Scrum/Kanban).
  • Provide subject matter expertise (SME) on P&C Insurance processes such as underwriting, rating, and policy administration.
  • Assist in change management, training, and user support during deployment and post-production.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s degree in Business, Information Systems, or related field.
  • From an overall 9 years atleast 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in P&C insurance domain with strong Experience to Guidewire PolicyCenter.
  • In-depth understanding of PolicyCenter functionalities across policy lifecycle (New Business, Renewals, Cancellations, Reinstatements, Endorsements).
  • Strong knowledge of P&C insurance products (Auto, Homeowners, Commercial, Workers Compensation, etc.).
  • Hands-on experience in Agile methodology (Scrum/Kanban) and tools like JIRA, Confluence, Rally, or Azure DevOps.
  • Excellent skills in requirements elicitation, documentation, and stakeholder management.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Guidewire PolicyCenter Certification (Business Analyst or Specialist) is a must
  • Experience in other Guidewire modules (BillingCenter, ClaimCenter) is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with integration points, APIs, and data migration in Guidewire ecosystem.
  • Experience working with global delivery teams (onsite-offshore model).
